Rhodes is the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese Islands, located in the south-eastern Aegean sea, and separated from Turkey by the Strait of Marmara. With regular direct flights from the UK between April and October, the island is easily accessible in just 4 hours.

Rhodes is an island with outstanding natural beauty and home to some of the finest beaches in Greece, from the golden sands at Lindos overlooked by its dramatic acropolis to lively Falaraki, the turquoise waters of Tsambika and the peaceful cove of Ladiko. The beautiful beaches are framed by pine woods and mountains and often sit in the shadows of magnificent monuments, making for a stunning backdrop. 

With an eclectic mix of Roman, Byzantine, Medieval, Venetian and modern Greek influences, the island is a melting pot of culture, cuisines and traditions.

Step back in time amongst the cobbled alleys and elegant mansions of the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town and wander along the Street of the Knights to the imposing Palace of the Grand Master.

Aside from exploring the Old Town, there is so much more to do on the island! Hire a car and visit the imposing Acropolis of Lindos or take a boat trip to the quaint island of Symi. If you are visiting in May, the peaceful Valley of Butterflies is well worth a visit! Thousands of butterflies migrate to the valley, a spectacular phenomenon that is not to be missed!

As for its beaches, they are some of the best in the Med! Secluded or lively, cosmopolitan or hidden, there’s no way you won’t find the perfect beach for you. 

Don’t leave before you’ve tried a traditional Pitaroudia, cousin to the falafel but more delicious and a Rhodian speciality!
