Chitwan is Nepal’s oldest national park and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. It has a particularly rich variety of wildlife including leopards, the majestic, but elusive, Bengal tiger and one of the last populations of the endangered one-horned Asiatic rhino. The park can be explored in a variety of ways: on foot, by canoe or even on elephant-back!
