Update - Floods in Queensland
Tuesday 28 December 2010 - 09:15

Update: Cyclone Tasha has now reduced to tropical storm and is moving inland from Brisbane. Flooding has forced the evacuation of a number of small towns and closure of roads. Officials have said that although the rain is easing in some areas more flooding is to be expected as the water drains to the sea.
Trailfinders continues to monitor the situation and is liasing with its ground operators in the area.
Parts of Queensland in Australia have experienced flooding in the past few days. North Queensland is still experiencing heavy rain while scattered showers, thunderstorms and general rain with locally heavy falls will continue over eastern Queensland for the coming days.
The weather bureau has advised that the weather system is unlikely to form into a cyclone as it is moving quickly and will not have time to intensify.
The main disruption at the moment is the closure of some roads, including the closure of the Bruce Highway between Townsville and Ingham.

Therefore, London airports are expected to open from 1900 BST tomorrow (Tuesday).

Changes to British Airways carry on baggage rules
Thursday 11 March 2010 - 14:40

From 15th March, BA are introducing dimension restrictions for the second piece of hand baggage carried on board – 45cms x 36cms x 20cms – these measurements ensure that the bag, which should be a laptop carry case, briefcase or personal handbag, can be accommodated under the seat in front.
Should your second piece of hand baggage exceed the dimensions, you will be asked to check one of the items of hand baggage into the aircraft hold and may be subject to an excess baggage fee.
The first piece of hand baggage is unaffected by this clarification. The standard-sized bag remains unchanged as no more than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including the handle, pockets and wheels.
Due to current restrictions, you can only take one piece of hand baggage onboard flights to the United States when travelling in World Traveller or World Traveller Plus. Clients travelling in First and Club World are permitted two pieces of hand baggage as standard.
