Not only is rail in Norway an efficient and great value way to travel, but it also boasts some of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world. Many considered part of the main road, the ferries run regularly and do not require prebooking except for specific tourist ferries in the summer months. Simply drive on, switch off your car and step onto the upper deck to enjoy the fjord scenery pass by.
