Where?

I embarked on an unforgettable voyage to discover French Polynesia with Oceania Cruises, exploring turquoise lagoons, lush volcanic islands like Bora Bora and Moorea, and energetic cultural hubs such as Papeete. Aboard Oceania’s elegant ship, Marina, I indulged in world class dining, luxurious amenities, and captivating excursions, experiencing the heart of the South Pacific.

Why go?

A cruise to French Polynesia felt like a journey to paradise, offering the perfect blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and exceptional luxury. Picture crystal clear lagoons, dramatic volcanic peaks, and powder soft beaches that seem untouched. French Polynesia’s islands, including Bora Bora, Moorea, and Tahiti, are famed for their stunning landscapes, offering endless opportunities for snorkelling, diving, and exploring coral reefs teeming with marine life.

Beyond its natural allure, the islands boast a unique cultural heritage. From traditional Polynesian music and dance performances to visits to ancient and sacred sites. With some late sailing times and a few overnight stays in ports such as Bora Bora there was plenty of time to explore island life and savour the fresh flavours of the local cuisine.

Who with?

Travelling with Oceania Cruises elevated the experience further, their boutique style ship, Marina, ensured impeccable service, and world-class dining with inspiration from the destinations visited. Onboard enrichment programmes and curated shore excursions provided immersive ways to connect with the spirit of French Polynesia.

Highlight?

A highlight of my time in French Polynesia was snorkelling in Bora Bora. Swimming among vibrant coral, I encountered an array of marine life, including graceful manta rays, colourful parrotfish, curious reef sharks, and gentle sea turtles. The serene underwater world felt like I was in an aquarium, offering an unforgettable glimpse into the region’s unspoilt ecosystem – a true paradise for nature lovers like myself.
