What we recommend:

Spend the day exploring this bustling metropolis on the Private Introduction to Bangkok tour – travel by public transport using the Skytrain, river boats and tuk-tuk and see the local side of Bangkok as well as the main attractions of the city including the Grand Palace, all in the company of an expert local guide.

Days 5-8: Chiang Mai

An atmospheric and colourful city, Chiang Mai boasts hundreds of sacred shrines, pagodas and golden temples, along with excellent restaurants, a superb night market and a laidback charm. A calming stay in the heart of  the city, the attractive Anantara Chiang Mai Resort offers a peaceful riverside location close to the market.

What we recommend:

Chiang Mai Thai Cooking Class - learn to cook real Thai food at 'A Lot of Thai' cooking school. You will be picked up and taken to the school run by Ms Yui, now a TV chef, and her husband Mr Kwan. Join her at the market as you browse through stalls and learn about how the ingredients are used in Thai cooking. This is a fantastic opportunity to observe Thai daily life. You'll then be taught how to cook a selection of traditional dishes so you can recreate them when you get home. Practice some traditional cooking techniques and learn how to blend these unique and delicious flavours before enjoying a delicious lunch.
