Day 1 Edinburgh
Arrive into Scotland and transfer to your hotel. The day is at leisure to explore, before joining your fellow travellers and travel director for a welcome dinner in a local restaurant this evening.
Day 2 Edinburgh
Join a local expert on a city tour this morning, taking in the sights such as the ornate Scott Memorial, the 18th Century New Town and the Palace of Hollyroodhouse. Venture up the Royal Mile to visit Edinburgh Castle, home to Mons Meg, the Stone of Destiny and Scotland's Crown Jewels. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3 Edinburgh to Inverness
Cross into Fife and head to St Andrew's, the home of golf since its creation. Enjoy free time to explore - perhaps head to West Sands Beach to relive the famous scene of Chariots of Fire. Continue to Pitlochry, famous for its salmon run and pass the Grampian Mountains to the sparkling Spey Valley. Visit one of the only occupied castles in Scotland, Ballindalloch Castle and Gardens for afternoon tea before continuing to Inverness.
Day 4 Inverness to Thurso
This morning, explore the sight of Culloden Moor where Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobite rebellion failed before continuing to the shores of Loch Ness. Keep your eyes peeled for the legendary monster before continuing north to Wick for a wee dram at the Old Pulteney Distillery to learn how Scotland's most famous export is produced.
Day 5 The Orkney Islands
Head to the most northern point of the British Highlands, John O'Groat's to board the ferry to the beautiful Orkney Islands. Join a local expert to explore the 5,000 year old village of Skara Brae, the mysterious Ring of Brodgar in Kirkwall and a small chapel built by Italian prisoners during World War II.
Day 6 Thurso to the Isle of Skye
Travel through stunning, pristine landscapes along the northern coast to 'head over the sea to Skye', the largest island of the Inner Hebrides. On the way to Broadford, hear the tale of how young Flora MacDonald helped to smuggle Bonnie Prince Charlie to the island.
Day 7 Isle of Skye to Glencoe
Explore this beautiful island at leisure this morning, before crossing to the Kyle of Lochalsh. Stop for a photo at remote Eilean Donan Castle and the WWII Commando Memorial which boasts a great view of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Continue to Glencoe for dinner showcasing fresh Scottish produce this evening.
Day 8 Glencoe to Glasgow
Spend time at peaceful Loch Lomond, the largest lake in Britain. Perhaps join a scenic cruise on the waters before heading south to Glasgow. Join an orientation tour of the city to take in sights such as George Square and St Mungo's Cathedral before spending the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 9 Glasgow
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast.
