TTA'S GUIDE TO WORKING ABROAD

Live like a local, gain life skills and help fund more travel by working abroad. From living down under in Australia or New Zealand, working a ski season in Canada or Japan, or getting involved in a US summer camp, to teaching English at a school in Thailand, Vietnam or South Korea. Working abroad is a breeze with TTA.

Live like a local

When you find somewhere you like, step off the tourist trail and live like a local, or rather become a local by working abroad! Many of the popular working holiday destinations, such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada are full of likeminded backpacking gap year travellers, so it’s easy to make new friends, find a fun share house and explore every nook and cranny of your new home. Be in the know on all the best bars and restaurants as well as hidden gems that are not in the guidebooks.

Make your gap year go further

Working abroad is a great way to get more out of your gap year. Let’s face it, eventually the travel fund will run out, but that doesn’t mean the fun needs to stop or you need to fly home. Find a base and a casual job for a few months to cash up before hitting the road again to seek new adventures. Alternatively, stay longer in your new home, taking weekend trips to explore some more of the local area or even extend your visa where possible and settle in for the long haul.

Boost your CV

A gap year doesn’t have to mean putting life plans on hold. Quite the opposite, it means living your life to the full! A working holiday is a great way to add value to your CV or beef up that university application. Get working experience to develop your skills and set yourself apart from the crowd. Whilst you’re having the experience of a lifetime, spend your gap year doing something that will help further your future goals, whether it be back home or perhaps in your newly adopted country.

Start your Australia or New Zealand working holiday with other backpackers with one of our arrival packs, providing a ready-made social scene, airport pick-up, your first week’s accommodation and awesome local tours with your new mates. You’ll even get help finding an awesome job so you can hit the ground running and make the most of your gap year.
