Days 1-7  Auckland
Touchdown in multicultural Auckland in New Zealand’s North Island, with a friendly face waiting to meet you off the plane. Transfer to a popular backpackers’ hostel in the centre of the city, where you can recover from your flight and get to know other travellers. Mooch around town with your new friends in tow checking out the view from the Sky Tower, stroll around the harbour and grab a few beers in the sun at a waterfront bar.  Travel north to the pristine Bay of Islands, home to insanely beautiful beaches, waterfalls and sand dunes! When you’re ready to think about the year ahead, Ultimate’s experienced team will help you set up your local tax number and bank account, before helping you find a job to make the most of your gap year.

What’s Next?
Time to get stuck in and enjoy the laidback Kiwi lifestyle! On weekends, why not hire a Mighty Camper and roam further north to the Coromandel Peninsula, with stunning Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. If driving’s not your thing, book a Kiwi Experience hop-on hop-off travel pass and head south to Rotorua, home to hissing geysers, bubbling mud pools and Hobbiton! New Zealand is your oyster.
