Days 1-2 Toronto
Begin your Ontario road trip in sophisticated Toronto, a city famed for its iconic skyline punctuated by the CN Tower, an expansive waterfront and shopping to rival NYC. Explore bohemian Kensington market, eat out in the Distillery District and maybe catch a game at the downtown stadium.
Days 3-7 Toronto to Algonquin via Georgian Bay
Say goodbye to the city and pick up your car, drinking in the fresh air scented with pine. Spend a night at Georgian Bay, home to the world’s longest freshwater beach, and hike around the majestic, towering cliffs. The next day, head off for a local cranberry wine experience en route to Algonquin Provincial Park. You’ve got three days at Algonquin to immerse yourself in nature, so put your phone away and get stuck into canoeing, hiking or biking around the pristine lakes and immense forests.
Day 8 Algonquin to Ottawa
Next up is Canada’s compact capital of Ottawa. Have a wander down the Rideau Canal and up to the top of Parliament Hill for incredible views, or if you’re feeling cultural there are a multitude of interesting museums to scout out.
Days 9-11 Ottawa to Toronto via Kingston
Your final stop is Kingston, back in Ontario’s rolling countryside. With 1,000 Islands dotted around its peaceful waters, you can opt for a cruise, have a picnic on the shores or check out one of the many music festivals hosted here over the summer. Head back to Toronto along beautiful Lake Ontario, and grab a last bottle of maple syrup before its time to fly home.
