If you’re dreaming of golden beaches and warm Caribbean waters, St Lucia is probably already on your radar. But the big question is: when is the best time to visit St Lucia?

Depending on your budget and what kind of trip you want, different months can offer different things. Read on for our guide to the best time to visit St Lucia, to help you make the most of your time on this beautiful island.

So, when is the best time to visit St Lucia?

For most people, the best time is between mid-December to April, during St Lucia’s dry season.

This time of year offers:

• Plenty of sunshine

• Lower humidity

• Minimal rainfall

• Ideal conditions for beaches and exploring

It’s exactly the kind of weather you picture when thinking of the Caribbean! Warm, breezy, and reliably sunny.

However, do consider that this is also peak season, so expect higher prices and more visitors.

Visiting St Lucia in the dry season (December to April)

This is widely considered to be the best time to visit St Lucia, especially if it’s your first trip.

Days are typically warm (around 27ºC to 30ºC), with cooler evenings and a steady breeze that keeps everything comfortable. It’s perfect for everything from lounging on the beach to hiking up Gros Piton.

It’s also the best time to visit St Lucia for:

• Snorkelling and diving

• Boat trips along the coast

• Exploring rainforests and waterfalls

If you want a bit of balance, May and June can sometimes be overlooked but are still good months to visit.

You’ll still get plenty of sunshine, but with:

• Fewer crowds

• Slightly lower prices than in the dry season

• Lush, green landscapes

There’s a higher chance of rainfall at this time of year (usually quick tropical showers), but they rarely last all day.

For many travellers, this is the best time to visit St Lucia if you want good weather without the peak season prices.

Visiting St Lucia in the wet season (July to November)

This time of year the weather gets a little more unpredictable, but not necessarily bad…

The wet season in St Lucia brings:

• Higher humidity

• More frequent rain (often in short bursts)

• A small risk of hurricanes (especially August to October)

That said, it’s not constant rain. You’ll still get some sunshine, and the island looks especially vibrant at this time of year.

It’s also when you’ll find the lowest prices and fewer tourists!
