Spend the day exploring the picturesque valley. Set out on a walk through the peaceful countryside, learning about the local tribes and customs, and visit a rural market for a fruit tasting.

Day 5 - Mai Chau Valley/Hanoi
Return to Hanoi, stopping at KymViet Enterprise on the way. This G Adventures–supported program teaches stitching and sewing skills to local people with disabilities. Enjoy the rest of the day in Hanoi at leisure.

Day 6 - Hanoi/Ha Long Bay
After breakfast, transfer to HaLong Bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from serene, turquoise waters. Settle into your cabin on a traditional-style wooden junk boa for the night.

Day 7 - Ha Long Bay/Hue
Enjoy an early lunch on board before returning to land and heading back to Hanoi to catch a short flight to Hue. A former imperial capital of Vietnam, this World Heritage-listed city boasts many architectural treasures.

Day 8 - Hue
Set out on a guided tour of Hue’s imposing walled citadel, discovering lavish palaces, gardens, and courtyards. Visit the Forbidden Purple City then venture into the countryside to the magnificent ancient tombs along the Perfume River.

Fly to ancient Varanasi, one of Hinduism’s holiest cities, located on the banks of the Ganges River. Sit down at one of the picturesque ghats or steps that run along the river and enjoy a talk by a local scholar about Varanasi’s spiritual and social significance.

Day 5 - Varanasi
Rise early to catch the sunrise over the Ganges on a boat cruise, and witness the morning rituals and prayers that take place along the river.

Day 6 - Varanasi/Lucknow
Travel to Lucknow, the former capital of the Muslim nawabs of Oudh, who were known as great patrons of art, architecture, dance, and music. Explore this fascinating city on a guided tour.

Day 7 - Lucknow/Agra
Travel by private bus to Agra, a former capital of the Delhi sultanate as well as the Mughal Empire. Settle into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

This morning, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Considered the finest example of Mughal architecture.Later, travel to Ranthambore National Park— home to elusive bengal tiger.

Spend the day exploring Ranthambore National Park, which once served as the private hunting ground of the maharajas of Jaipur. Set out on morning and evening safaris with local rangers in search of beautiful wildlife.

Drive to Jaipur, known for palaces and markets. Visit the Anoothi Project for a hands-on block printing session with local women artisans, enjoy chai and pakoras, and learn about their community impact before an evening at leisure.

Head to the verdant Santubong Peninsula this morning, crowned by the jungle-covered Mount Santubong. Embark on a cruise down the Santubong River, taking in the stunning mangrove scenery and wildlife.

Day 5 - Kuching/Gunung Mulu National Park
Catch a flight to Mulu and transfer to our hotel near Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its incredible biodiversity, old-growth tropical forest, and impressive karst features.

Hop on a longboat and glide along the Melinau River to a Penan tribe settlement for a short visit. Continue to the Wind Cave, observing its surreal calcite formations and the cool breezes that blow through.

Fly to Puerto Maldonado and continue by motorized canoe to our comfortable Amazon lodge. Spot local bird species along the lush shores of the Tambopata River en route to the lodge, and set off on an evening walk with a naturalist guide.

Day 4 - Tambopata
Spend the day exploring the thriving ecosystems of the rainforest with our lodge’s naturalist guides. Scan the treetops for toucans, howler monkeys, and sloths, and glide along oxbow lakes on canoes.

Day 5 - Tambopata/Cusco
Travel out of the jungle by boat and catch a flight to Cusco. This evening, visit the Cusco Planetarium for a presentation on the skies of the Southern Hemisphere.

Day 6 - Cusco/Urubamba
Drive to the scenic Sacred Valley for a full day of exploration with a local guide. Visit the fascinating Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo and Pisac, and enjoy a meal at the G Adventures–supported Parwa Community Restaurant.

Set out on the iconic Inca Trail. Immerse yourself in the enchanting Andean countryside, hiking along meandering streams and crossing remote mountain villages.

Today, we ascend the long, steep path to Warmiwañusca, better known as Dead Woman’s Pass—the highest point on the Inca Trail, at 4,198 meters (13,769 feet). Enjoy stunning views of the Sacred Valley.

Day 9 - Inca Trail
Today we’ll cross two spectacular passes. The first pass is Runquraqay at 3,950m followed by the misty Inca ruins of Phuyupatamarca at 3,650 meters.

Day 10 - Machu Picchu/Cusco
The final day starts early as you reach the Sun Gate for your first views of Machu Picchu. Hike down for a guided tour of this breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site before catching a bus to Aguas Calientes.

Day 11 - Cusco
Free day in Cusco — explore this city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at your leisure. Choose to pre-book the Cusco Cooking Class. Opt to visit museums and ruins or try rock climbing.

Day 12 - Cusco/Puno
Head south on a scenic drive to Puno, perched on the western shore of Lake Titicaca. The journey will take us through the Altiplano, a vast, windswept landscape of plateaus and plains.

Day 13 - Puno
Set out to discover Lake Titicaca—one of the highest navigable lakes in the world and the second largest lake in South America. On a guided boat tour, visit the floating Uros Islands—built entirely of reeds!

Depart Tokyo by train to Nagiso, then stay at a traditional minshuku. Walk through scenic countryside to Tsumago, a preserved Edo-period town, and enjoy a kaiseki dinner featuring artful, multi-course Japanese cuisine.

Day 6 - Tsumago/Kanazawa
Travel by train to Kanazawa, once the Maeda clan’s seat. Explore Nagamachi samurai district and visit the Nomura residence, a restored samurai home showcasing antique heirlooms and a beautiful garden.

Spend the day exploring Kanazawa. Tour Myoryuji (Ninja Temple) with its hidden defenses, stroll the Higashi Chaya geisha district, and visit a craft studio to learn traditional techniques and paint chopsticks with gold leaf.

Travel by bullet train to Hiroshima and visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, honoring victims of the 1945 atomic bombings. Explore memorials and the Children’s Peace Monument dedicated to Sadako Sasaki and lost young lives.

Catch a ferry to Miyajima (Itsukushima Island) to see the iconic Itsukushima Shinto shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a floating red torii gate. Spend the afternoon exploring the island at your leisure.

Visit the World Heritage-listed Himeji Castle, Japan’s most spectacular and best-preserved castle with an elegant white facade. Then travel to Kyoto to explore its temples, shrines, gardens, and take a guided stroll through Gion’s lantern-lined streets.
