Victoria Holidays

Victoria's sophisticated state capital Melbourne, known for its arresting architecture, burgeoning coffee scene, eclectic fine dining and major sporting events, is a destination in its own right but venture beyond the city and you’ll be justly rewarded.

From the gorgeous surf lapped beaches of the Mornington Peninsula, laced with vineyards and pretty upmarket towns, to the premier wine region of the Yarra Valley, there is no better place to relax and enjoy Australia’s finest produce.

For spectacular wildlife spotting head to Phillip Island to see the daily penguin parade as well as lovable koalas and wallabies and don’t miss the stunning coastal panoramas of the Great Ocean Road, ranked as one of the finest scenic drives in the world.

Finally for hiking opportunities galore explore the rugged wilderness of the Grampians National Park or the untouched natural beauty of Wilsons Promontory National Park.

Australia no1

Trailfinders is the UK and Ireland's No.1 to Australia and one in six of all visitors from here travel with us. Almost all of our travel consultants have travelled extensively here, often returning time and time again.

  • WHERE TO GO IN VICTORIA

    Victoria map
    Melbourne
Melbourne is Australia’s most stylish and innovative city, widely regarded as the cultural heart and soul of the country.
From upmarket South Yarra to beachside St Kilda and the bohemian enclave of Fitzroy, there is so much to experience.
Wander the Southbank and take advantage of the free trams within the central business district, experiencing fabulous bars and restaurants or meander around the laneways and arcades taking in the city’s café culture.

Great Ocean Road & The Grampians
Widely regarded as one of the world’s most scenic drives, the Great Ocean Road winds through lush, ancient rainforest and hugs rugged coastline before culminating at the sheer limestone cliffs of the awe-inspiring Twelve Apostles. Inland, rising dramatically from the surrounding Western Plains, the Grampians mountain range is a truly spectacular part of Victoria, filled with epic walking trails, abundant wildlife and spectacular viewpoints.

    Mornington Peninsula & Phillip Island
    Mornington Peninsula & Phillip Island
Just south of Melbourne lies the boutique vineyards of the Mornington Peninsula and home of the world’s smallest penguins, Phillip Island. Much more than just wineries, the Mornington Peninsula has become a gastronomic haven in recent years with many award-winning restaurants, historic seaside villages and gorgeous beaches to charm you. Head further south to Phillip Island and delight in the little penguins performing their evening ritual of marching up the beach each night in their hundreds.
    Yarra Valley
    Yarra Valley
Victoria’s premier wine destination; some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noirs and sparkling wines originate from this scenic valley. Here rolling hills flow into golden vineyards, punctuated by pretty villages and the winding Yarra River, from which the valley takes its name. Home to over 80 vineyards, from renowned international wineries to rustic local cellar doors and famous for its fresh artisanal produce, craft breweries and markets, it’s easy to see why this is a locals’ favourite.
    Wilsons Promontory National Park
    Wilsons Promontory National Park
The lesser traversed coastal wilderness of Wilsons Promontory National Park is a place of untouched natural beauty, set on the southernmost tip of mainland Australia. The most common way to explore the park is by foot, with bush walks ranging from a couple of hours to a few days. Hike to the summit of Mount Oberon for spectacular views across the Bass Straight, or simply relax on the remote golden beaches.
