New Zealand Holidays

Holidays to New Zealand are all about nature in all her pomp and majesty with some truly eye-popping natural attractions.

Feel the heat in the North Island with hissing geysers, hot springs and volcanoes, whilst in the south glacial ice has scoured dramatic landscapes from the peaks of majestic snow-capped Southern Alps all the way to the awe inspiring sounds of Fiordland National Park.

For sun, sea and sand the North Island’s picturesque Coromandel Peninsula’s idyllic coves offer a bewitchingly laid back slice of Antipodean life. The south offers soaring cliffs, vast fjords and a host of wildlife encounters including whales, penguins and albatrosses.

And don’t forget the culture! Rotorua on the North Island is the heartland of indigenous Maori culture and you can enjoy song and dance performances and a traditional Hangi feast here.

New Zealand no1

Trailfinders is the UK & Ireland’s No.1 Tour Operator to New Zealand and most of our travel consultants have travelled extensively here. • WHERE TO GO IN NEW ZEALAND

You could comfortably see the main highlights of both the North and South Island in two weeks but each island certainly merits further exploration. It would be as easy to spend a fortnight exploring the Moari heritage, golden beaches and geothermal attractions of the North Island as it would to use it discovering the glaciers, fiords and mountains of the South.

HOW TO GET AROUND NEW ZEALAND

Quiet roads, scenic drives and short driving distances mean New Zealand is a wonderful fly drive destination. An excellent selection of camp sites also make motorhome holidays in New Zealand extremely popular.

If you’d rather not drive then perhaps an escorted tour would suit you better. How about joining a sociable escorted coach tour from the sun-kissed Bay of Islands to spectacular Sounds of Fiordland National Park or an exclusive small group tour to get you off the beaten track?

Walking is practically a national sport and with iconic treks such as the Tongariro Crossing in the north and the Routeburn, Milford and Abel Tasman Tracks it’s easy to slot in a fabulous walk to almost any holiday.

With nowhere further than 70 miles from the sea a cruise makes wonderful sense too. Often sailing out of Sydney’s magnificent harbour in Australia and reaching parts of New Zealand no other tour could, this is a wonderfully relaxing way to experience the country.

OUR RECOMMENDED HOTELS IN NEW ZEALAND

We feature a great range of accommodation in New Zealand, with something to suit all budgets.

We can help you with hotels, motels, lodges, cabins, bungalows, guesthouses and apartments all over New Zealand.

What you won’t find here are thousands upon thousands of hotels where you have to wade through endless reviews of questionable origin to find the best one. We have done the hard work for you and selected the best places to stay so you don’t have to and our travel consultants are on hand to help, often with first-hand experience.
