Zanzibar & Beyond Holidays

Just off the coast of mainland Tanzania, the exotic islands of Zanzibar and Pemba offer beautiful white sand beaches, turquoise waters and some excellent diving opportunities. Beyond the beaches, wander along the narrow streets in Stone Town’s historic quarter to discover a fascinating mix of cultures as well as some awe-inspiring architecture, or enjoy a tour of one of the island’s many spice plantations

Slave Market Memorial, Stone Town, Zanzibar
    Stone Town
Located on a promontory on the west coast of Zanzibar, this wonderfully historic old town is an enchanting place to visit with a maze of narrow streets packed with charming buildings, tiny shops and vibrant markets. Stone Town was once home to the powerful Sultans of Zanzibar and an important trading centre. Today its UNESCO World Heritage listed architecture reflects a complex fusion of Arabic, Indian, African and European influences.
    Zanzibar Coast
Zanzibar’s coastline offers powder white sands, warm clear waters and some excellent dive sites within easy reach. Choose from a wide variety of resorts set in secluded spots around the coast, or head to the Nungwi area in the north of the island for access to a selection of simple restaurants and the island’s liveliest nightlife. Be aware that Zanzibar’s beaches have a large tidal range so at low tide it’s a long walk across the sands to the water while at high tide the beach may be submerged.

    Pemba Island
    Pemba Island
Situated to the north of Zanzibar, Pemba is a largely untouched paradise with stunning beaches and a lush hilly interior. A similar size to Zanzibar but much less visited, with just a handful of remote resorts scattered around its coastline, Pemba offers an intriguing contrast to its famous neighbour. The azure waters offshore are also home to some of the region’s best dive sites. link to Fundu Lagoon
    Prison Island
Situated just off the west coast of Zanzibar, this stunning island was originally used for the confinement of slaves. It is now home to giant tortoises who roam the island. Spend your time exploring, take a dip in the ocean or go snorkelling and discover the beautiful coral reef.
    Jozani Forest
Explore Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park on a guided walking tour in the natural habitat of the resident red colobus monkey. The Forest is also home to endangered species such as bush babies and a rich variety of birds and butterflies native to Zanzibar.
    Spice Plantations
Discover why Zanzibar is known as the ‘Spice Island’. In the centre of the island, surrounded by lush forests and beautiful scenery are a number of spice plantations. Enjoy a guided visit of local farms that grow cloves, vanilla, nutmeg and other spices

We offer a wonderful choice of resorts and hotels in Zanzibar and Pemba to suit every budget.
On the beach we can help you with everything from rustic cottages on secluded bays to luxurious 5 star resorts with every facility you can dream of.
The old city of Stone Town is the cultural heart of Zanzibar and little has changed here since the 19th Century. Stay a couple of days in one of its charming hotels to really immerse yourself in the culture and history.
To really escape the beautiful island of Pemba is a hidden gem, with a lush hilly landscape, gorgeous beaches and just a handful of secluded resorts.
