New South Wales Holidays

New South Wales boasts iconic cities, beautiful beaches, pristine national parks and world class wineries. So whether you are looking for a beach holiday, city break, or luxury indulgence, you can find it all here. The spectacular panoramas of the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains, the famous vineyards of the Hunter Valley and the glorious beaches of Port Stephens are within easy day tour distance of Sydney, making an extended stay with short tours out of the city an enticing prospect. Further afield, the quirky beach community of Byron Bay to the north and the glorious coast to the south make extended touring very popular, and we have a wonderful selection of self drive holidays, coach tours and small group adventures to choose from.

What Trailfinders do better than anyone else is create tailormade holidays in New South Wales. With us you can pick and choose how you’d like to get around, where you’d like to stay and how you’d like to experience the attractions.

Australia no1

Trailfinders is the UK and Ireland's No.1 to Australia and one in six of all visitors from here travel with us. Almost all of our travel consultants have travelled extensively here, often returning time and time again.

  • WHERE TO GO IN NEW SOUTH WALES

    New South Wales map
    Sydney
One of the world’s most iconic cities, Sydney has a stunning harbour location and myriad attractions. Home to the sweeping curve of Sydney Harbour Bridge and glistening sails of the famous Opera House, the city also boasts a beautiful blend of modern and heritage architecture, excellent shopping and a fantastic restaurant and bar scene. Discover the historic Rocks area and the buzz of Darling Harbour, stroll through the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens and relax on one of the city’s celebrated beaches.
For the best views in town, take a harbour cruise or scale the heights of the famed bridge on an organised climb.
Blue Mountains & The Hunter Valley
The stunning Blue Mountains are just a short drive from Sydney and rightly championed as one of the must-see attractions in New South Wales. Admire the famous blue haze from a range of spectacular look out points, explore the Jenolan Caves, observe the striking Three Sisters rock formation or enjoy an idyllic bushwalk.
Further north, discover the rolling vineyards of Australia’s oldest wine region: the Hunter Valley, with over 150 cellar doors to explore. Sample superb Semillon and Shiraz carefully paired with locally produced cheeses and chocolates before savouring a meal in one of the region’s renowned fine dining restaurants.
Southern New South Wales & Canberra
Encompassing stunning coastal scenery, the nation’s capital city and historic hinterland, Southern New South Wales and Canberra offer a wide range of scenic and cultural attractions. Explore the beautiful south coast’s uncrowded beaches and pristine bushland. Discover the political heart of the country in Canberra and visit historic gold rush towns in the interior countryside.
The Legendary Pacific Coast & Lord Howe Island
This sun-kissed stretch of New South Wales promises a wealth of natural treasures. Scale immense sand dunes and spot dolphins off the coast of Port Stephens and explore the alfresco eateries in Coffs Harbour’s lively marina. Inland, climb to the top of Mount Warning in Wollumbin National Park, then tuck into artisan produce at local farmer’s markets on the way to bohemian and hugely popular Byron Bay. Just over 350 miles off the coast lies World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island. This tropical isle boasts towering forests and a sheltered coral reef lagoon, perfect for snorkelling.
