Journey through some of Africa’s amazing and least visited countries over this 85 day tour through 11 countries. Starting west of Africa in Ghana through Central Africa and down to the southern tip of the continent finishing in Cape Town.
Travelling mainly by the Dragoman overland truck and the occasional trips in a Pirogue (dugout canoe) this trip runs once a year and it is only for really experienced travellers or for folk who are happy to go way out of their comfort zone.
Start your journey in the fascinating and chaotic Ghanaian capital of Accra. Admire the beautiful Mont Klouto region of Togo, explore the fascinating town built entirely on stilts in the middle of a lake in Ganvie, Benin. Visit the impressive Usman Dam and the beautiful Yankari National Park in Nigeria, drive through the jungle roads into tropical Cameroon, relax by the beach as well as spend time in the foothills of Mount Cameroon which is one of Africa's biggest volcanoes.
Heading more towards Central Africa, travel through vibrant Gabon and spend some time on safari either in Lambarene or Loango National Park. Experience the wilderness of the Republic of the Congo and be welcomed by the smiling faces, wherever you go from the open road to Pointe-Noire, you will be greeted with open arms. Pass through the Democratic Republic of Congo, travelling west and visiting Kinshasa. The DRC is also home to the only Bonobo sanctuary in the world, definitely worth a visit!
Leaving the DRC behind, enter one of Africa’s hidden gems for travellers, Angola. Visit the mesmerising Kalandula Falls, the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa. Spot some of Africa’s most famous animals in Etosha National Park, drive south to the stunning mountains of Spitzkoppe and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises this remote region has to offer. Continue to the old German colonial town of Swakopmund, explore the spectacular Namib Desert, climb to the top of Dune 45 and discover the dramatic scenery of Fish River Canyon as your journey comes to an end down the Western Cape and into the charming city of Cape Town.
