Southern Africa Safari: Kruger & Coast

Day 1  Durban
Your adventure begins on the Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu Natal. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel and this evening, join your tour leader and fellow travellers at a local restaurant for dinner.

Day 2  Duban to St Lucia
This morning, head to St Lucia in iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This park is unique due to its remarkable combination of estuarine lakes, subtropical coastline, forests, and wildlife. On arrival, enjoy a picnic at Mission Rocks where you may be able to see turtles. After, explore the park and search for buffaloes and rhinos before continuing to Cape Vidal Beach.

Day 3  St Lucia to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
Start early with a boat cruise on Lake St Lucia, known for its large hippo population, and potential sightings of crocodiles and fish eagles. After breakfast back at your accommodation, drive to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park and spot wildlife en route to your camp. This evening, hop in safari vehicles with a park ranger and be on the lookout for black and white rhinos alongside lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. Back at camp, enjoy your first braai (South African barbeque) of the trip.

Day 4  Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
This morning, enjoy a game walk with a park ranger before breakfast back at camp. Most of the day is at leisure until another exciting game drive in the late afternoon.

Day 5  Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park to Ponta Do Ouro
After breakfast, drive out of the park and observe the wildlife one last time as you drive to Ponta Do Ouro, Mozambique, where golden sands meet the Indian Ocean. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6  Ponta Do Ouro
This morning, board a boat and spend the day swimming with dolphins. From July to November, it is also possible to see migrating humpback whales, and from December to May, whale sharks and manta rays occasionally frequent these waters.

Day 7  Ponta Do Ouro to Kruger National Park
Today, embark on the road journey to the iconic Kruger National Park. Along the way, there will chances to see a variety of wildlife that call this park home. You will arrive at your camp on the Sabie River in the late afternoon.

Days 8-9  Kruger National Park
The next two days are spent on full day game drives in safari vehicles with local guides. In Kruger National Park, there are great opportunities to see the Big 5 as well as a giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles.

Day 10  Kruger National Park to Graskop Gorge
Bid farewell to Kruger National Park and head to a viewpoint that overlooks the impressive Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world. This afternoon, explore Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the God’s Window viewpoint en route to you accommodation on the edge of Graskop Gorge.

Day 11  Graskop Gorge to Johannesburg
This morning, ride the glass Gaskop Gorge Lift for an incredible view over the mighty gorge and enjoy a walk through Afromontane Forest. Afterwards, transfer to Johannesburg in time for your onward arrangements.
