Days 1-2 Adelaide
Established more than 150 years ago, the city has been careful to preserve its history and culture, with impressive Victorian buildings and spacious parkland fringing the city. Enjoy the vibrant restaurant scene and relaxed pace of this fantastic city.
Day 3 Adelaide to Port Lincoln
Take the short flight from Adelaide to Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula. This pretty harbour town is well known for its delicious local seafood.
Day 4 Port Lincoln
Enjoy one of the nearby walking trails offering magnificent views of the coastline, explore the area’s sheltered beaches and discover nearby Coffin Bay National Park. For the adventurous, try shark cage diving with the ultimate predator, the great white shark.
Day 5 Port Lincoln to Gawler Ranges NP
Meet with your tour guide and group (max six) and start your journey to the ancient volcanic Gawler Ranges National Park. This morning, visit a colony of wild koalas at Mikkira Station before travelling inland to Wuddina and the fantastic Kangaluna Camp, your base for the next three nights. In the afternoon, enjoy a native wildlife experience before a hearty dinner back at Kangaluna camp.
Day 6 Lake Gairdner and Gawler Ranges NP
A morning drive takes you to spectacular Lake Gairdner, a fascinating and seemingly endless white salt pan fringed by the red landscape. Continue through the constantly changing scenery, spotting abundant wildlife including emus and kangaroos. After dinner, view the mesmerising starscape using the camp’s telescope.
Day 7 Gawler Ranges NP
After a leisurely morning at the camp, take a walk on Lake Sturt and marvel at the colours and patterns in the dry lake bed. Embark on a nature walk to learn about the area’s diverse plants, animals and birds. Later, enjoy drinks as the sun sets across the shimmering waters.
Day 8 Gawler Ranges NP to Adelaide
Rise early for the journey to Baird Bay where you will board a boat for an unforgettable wildlife experience. Spot pods of bottlenose dolphins and swim with a friendly, wild colony of sea lions in a protected shallow lagoon, before a beach lunch and scenic journey back to Port Lincoln for your early evening flight back to Adelaide.
