Day 1 Melbourne
Arrive in Melbourne and make your own way to the hotel. Enjoy dinner aboard the famous Colonial Tramcar restaurant, the first travelling cable-car restaurant in the world.
Day 2 Melbourne
Today will start with a sightseeing tour of Melbourne including the historic Fitzroy Gardens. Later that day you may wish to take an optional tour to Philip Island, home of the world’s largest colony of Little Penguins.
Day 3 Melbourne to Adelaide
Fly to Adelaide and spend some time exploring this lovely coastal city before heading out to the nearby Barossa Valley, Australia’s most famous wine region. Tonight’s dinner will boast a scenic setting overlooking a vineyard.
Day 4 Barossa Valley
Start today by heading to the 19th century Hutton Vale Farm, an 8th generation working farm and winery set on 2,000 acres of picturesque countryside. Here you will meet the caretakers and learn about their family’s history, while enjoying a tour of the farm and vineyard before trying some tea and homemade specialities. From here your next stop will be Seppeltsfield winery for a private tour and tastings.
Day 5 Barossa Valley to Alice Springs
This morning fly to Alice Spring and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this outback town visiting the Old Telegraph Station and Anzac Hill. Tonight’s dinner will be a memorable bush dinner with a desert backdrop.
Day 6 Alice Springs
Start today by learning about the history and culture of the Walpiri Aboriginal people during a ‘Dreamtime Tour’. Later that day you will visit the School of the Air and gain an insight into the educational system in the Outback. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this outback town.
Day 7 Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Leaving Alice Springs behind, travel through the outback towards Uluru, the aboriginal name for Ayers Rock. Watch the majestic sunset as you witness the changing of the colours of Uluru while enjoying a Champagne toast.
Day 8 Uluru to Cairns
Rise early and head to Kata Tjuta and the base of ‘The Rock’ to learn about its geology and significance to Aboriginal culture. Afterwards, fly to Cairns, the tropical gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Great Barrier Reef.
Day 9 Cairns
Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for an unforgettable journey above the rainforest canopy. Along the way you can get off and experience the forest floors diverse wildlife by walking along the specially designed boardwalks. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure.
Day 10 Great Barrier Reef
Hop aboard a catamaran and sail to the Low Isles to explore the reef’s fascinating underwater world. Spend the day exploring the shores of this tiny sand island located on the outer reef or alternatively try your hand at some snorkelling. There will be the opportunity to learn more from a marine biologist about this diverse marine life.
Day 11 Cairns
Spend the morning at your own leisure, perhaps spend time exploring the town or simply relax. Later that day you will visit Hartley’s Croc Farm, where you will get up close and personal with crocodiles in their natural habitat. Enjoy a cruise on the lagoon before enjoying an authentic Aussie barbecue.
Day 12 Cairns to Sydney
After a leisurely morning, fly to Sydney, Australia’s largest city. This evening explore vibrant Darling Harbour and dine like a local in one of the many restaurants along the harbour front.
Day 13 Sydney
Meet with a local guide and visit a number of Sydney landmarks and highlights by combining a driving tour followed by a walking tour. Enjoy a stroll through the Rocks, Sydney’s oldest district before enjoying a guided tour of Sydney Opera House. Afterwards learn about opals during a special presentation at the National Opal Collection. The rest of the day is free for further exploring of the city.
Day 14 Blue Mountains or Sydney by Sea
Today you have the choice of heading to the stunning Blue Mountains where you can enjoy countless geological wonders. Alternatively, experience Sydney at your own pace with a hop-
on-hop-off Sydney cruise pass.
Day 15 Sydney
Spend today at your own leisure. Perhaps explore more of Sydney’s sights and attractions or alternatively spend the day relaxing. This evening you will embark on a delightful farewell dinner cruise of Sydney Harbour.
Day 16 Sydney
After breakfast your tour will come to an end.
