Day 1 Anchorage, USA
Gain an insight into the cultural past of Alaska’s largest city at the excellent museums Anchorage has to offer.
Day 2 Anchorage to Gakona
Collect your motorhome and travel the scenic Glenn Highway passing glaciers, amazing mountain passes and flowing rivers to the historic town of Gakona.
Day 3 Gakona to Tok
Continue north along the Tok Cut-Off Highway to reach the small town of Tok, famed for being the ‘Sled Dog Capital of Alaska’.
Day 4 Tok to Dawson City, Canada
Today will be a memorable experience as you wind your way along the dramatic Top of the World Highway. Stop en route in Chicken to visit historic gold rush dredges, before crossing into Yukon, Canada.
Day 5 Dawson City
Get to know this intriguing town, learning of the Gold Rush era and it’s tumultuous history. Be inspired at the former gold mine of Goldbottom and perhaps pan for some gold of your own.
Day 6 Dawson City
After another day exploring the stunning surrounds of Dawson City, this evening take advantage of the long summer days. Drive the short distance to the Midnight Dome, an incredible vantage point boasting expansive panoramas of the Yukon River and Klondike Valley.
Day 7 Dawson City to Carmacks
Wake early this morning for the scenic drive south along the Klondike Highway to Carmacks, the First Nations original trading post.
Day 8 Carmacks to Whitehorse
After a night’s rest, continue south to the capital of Yukon, Whitehorse.
Day 9 Whitehorse
Call by the welcoming shops on Main Street, before a stroll along the banks of the Yukon River. After lunch, perhaps explore the beautiful Yukon Wildlife Preserve on a self-guided walking tour, home to ten different species of Northern Canadian mammals and visit the nearby Takhini Hot Springs.
Day 10 Whitehorse to Haines Junction
Hit the open road once again and drive to the small town of Haines Junction, gateway to spectacular Kluane National Park.
Day 11 Kluane NP
Spend the day exploring a myriad of walking trails, spotting local wildlife and superb mountain views in Kluane National Park.
Day 12 Haines Junction to Beaver Creek
Travel north along the Alaska Highway, enjoying beautiful scenery before arriving in the tiny community of Beaver Creek.
Day 13 Beaver Creek to Copper Center, USA
Cross back into Alaska and travel to Copper Center, gateway to America’s largest national park and home to the Ahtna Alaska natives who have resided here for over 5,000 years.
Day 14 Wrangell-St Elias NP
Get off the beaten track and explore Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Experience a slice of this vast wilderness, home to over 150 glaciers and some of the highest peaks in America.
Day 15 Copper Center to Anchorage
Enjoy one last drive through the Alaskan wilderness as you return to Anchorage.
Day 16 Anchorage
Your adventure comes to an end today as you drop off your motorhome in time for your onward flight.
