Day 1 Anchorage
Arrive in Anchorage and make your own way to your hotel to join a welcome meeting.
Days 2-4 Anchorage to Denali NP
Leave the city behind and try a local delicacy of reindeer sausage in historic Talkeetna. Spend two full days at beautiful Denali National Park, on the lookout for bears, caribou and wolves. Home to the highest mountain in North America, there’s a number of hiking opportunities to enjoy within the park or perhaps join an optional glacier landing helicopter flight.
Days 5-7 Denali NP to Wrangell- St Elias NP
Continue to the Alaska Range via the old Denali Highway for a quiet night in a rustic cabin, surrounded by spectacular views. Venture onwards into the heart of Wrangell-St Elias National Park to camp on the banks of the Kennecott River. Why not embark on an optional glacier walk or ice climb?
Days 8-9 Wrangell-St Elias NP to Valdez
Travel to Valdez, a small town at the end of a glacier carved fjord. Perhaps take an optional sea kayak excursion to get up close to a glacier, hike the Mineral Creek Trail or learn about native culture and gold rush history at the Valdez Museum.
Days 10-12 Valdez to Seward
Jump on the ferry and journey through Prince William Sound looking out for humpback whales on your way to Seward. Take a full day wildlife viewing cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park and around Resurrection Bay on the lookout for puffins, eagles and orcas. Afterwards hike the trail along the Harding Icefield for breathtaking views.
Day 13 Seward to Soldotna
Today, discover the awe-inspiring mountain scenery on a float plane flight across the beautiful Cook Inlet. Scan the rugged terrain for brown and black bears in the untouched Alaskan wilderness.
Day 14 Soldotna to Anchorage
Drive through the Chugach Mountain Range where there is time for a final wilderness walk, before returning to Anchorage to continue with your onward arrangements.
