Day 1 Anchorage, USA
Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city and meet your fellow travellers and transfer to your first hotel.
Day 2 Anchorage to Denali National Park
This morning, leave Anchorage behind and enjoy the breathtaking views of Alaska as you journey along George Parks Highway to Denali National Park. This afternoon, if weather permits take an optional scenic glacier flight to Denali.
Day 3 Denali National Park
Spend the day exploring Denali National Park, a true highlight of the tour. Head deep into the park for a glimpse of imposing Mount Denali, the highest peak in North America. Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s fantastic wildlife including wolves, moose and grizzly bears.
Day 4 Denali National Park to Fairbanks
Today head north to the city of Fairbanks, 320km south of the Arctic Circle. Explore this unique town at your own leisure. Perhaps enjoy an optional relaxing sternwheeler cruise down Chena River.
Day 5 Fairbanks to Dawson City, Canada
Begin the journey to Canada along the Alaskan highway before joining the famous Top of the World Highway. Cross the most northern USA/Canada border crossing and stop by quirky villages including Chicken and Action Wade Camp. Cross the Yukon River by ferry before arriving in Dawson City, home for the next three nights.
Day 6 Dawson City
Explore the legendary gold boomtown Dawson City which was once the centre of the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898. Immerse yourself in the city’s fascinating history by visiting the Jack London Cabin and the Dawson City museum. Perhaps try your luck at panning for gold before enjoying an evening of entertainment with can-can style dancing.
Day 7 Dempster Highway
On a day trip from Dawson, travel part of the famous Dempster Highway which connects Yukon to the remote town of Inuvik. Head as far as Tombstone Territorial Park, best known for its dark and rugged mountains.
Day 8 Dawson City to Whitehorse
Travel along the Klondike Highway and take in the stunning scenery of the mighty Yukon River, North America’s longest at 3,200km. Stop at the mighty Five Finger Rapids and pass by small villages reminiscent of the gold rush era.
Day 9 Whitehorse
After breakfast, you will have some time at leisure before being transferred to the airport for your onward travels.
