Itinerary
Fly into Vancouver and overnight at your comfortable hotel.
Day 2 Vancouver to Whitehorse
An early start today whisks you away to the far north! Spend the afternoon exploring, perhaps visit the hot springs or simply browse the small shops and boutiques.
Day 3 Whitehorse
Try out the classic Canadian mode of transport and follow your guide along the Yukon River by canoe, looking out for birds of prey, beavers and moose.
Day 4 Whitehorse to Dawson City
Fly up to Dawson City, a frontier town steeped in Gold Rush history.
Days 5-6 Dawson City
Follow in the footsteps of past prospectors and find your own piece of gold before enjoying lively evening entertainment in the local saloon bars. Join a day tour along the wilds of the Dempster Highway to magnificent Tombstone Territorial Park.
Day 7 Dawson City to Inuvik
Fly to Inuvik in the North West Territories which is set 124 miles north of the Arctic Circle and packed with summer festivals.
Days 8-9 Inuvik & Tuktoyaktuk
The Mackenzie River flows through this friendly community and a boat tour along it offers a great way to see the surrounding wilderness. Your expert guide will navigate through the winding channels to see thousands of tiny islands of the Mackenzie Valley. The following day is a real highlight ‐ travel along the Mackenzie Valley Highway to Tuktoyaktuk, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Dip your toe in the ice cold waters and learn about the lives of the people in this small, remote community. The summer sun sets late this far north, with daylight lasting long past midnight.
Days 10-12 Inuvik to Whitehorse
Fly south to Whitehorse, Yukon’s compact capital and transfer to your downtown hotel. Take a scenic city tour of Whitehorse and learn about its former gold rush glory. Visit the famous SS Klondike, one of two stern wheeling ships that hauled precious cargo, fuel and food as well as passengers up and down the Yukon River between Whitehorse and Dawson City. Head out for your Northern Lights viewing opportunity over the next few nights, making the most of hot drinks, marshmallows and a roaring bonfire.
Day 13 Whitehorse to Whistler
Leave Whitehorse behind for your flight back to Vancouver and a transfer up to the mountains of Whistler.
Days 14-16 Whistler
Whistler’s outdoor playground offers activities galore! Hit the hiking and biking trails, join a bear viewing tour or treat your taste buds to a food tour. Be sure to choose a hotel with a hot tub to round off your mountain stay. Please note This holiday can also be enjoyed from early June, with a stay in Whitehorse instead of at Southern Lakes Resort.
