Day 1 Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver with your fellow travellers and tour director and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Vancouver
Get to know this incredible city, on a full day sightseeing tour. Visit the Gastown quarter before a walk through leafy Stanley Park. Later, enjoy the mouthwatering food markets of Granville Island.
Day 3 Vancouver Island
Today cross the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island and pay a visit to the marvellous Butchart Gardens, an explosion of colourful flowers and manicured hedgerows
Day 4 Vancouver to Sun Peaks
Leave Vancouver by coach and head into the Canadian wine region of the Okanagan Valley. Continue across the Coquihalla Pass before a lunch stop in Hope and finally reaching Sun Peaks.
Day 5 Sun Peaks to Jasper
Continue the journey into the heart of the Rockies, Jasper. Stop here for two nights and be sure to have your camera ready to capture this outstanding scenery.
Day 6 Jasper
Enjoy a relaxing day exploring the charming town of Jasper, nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain wilderness. Take a scenic excursion around Jasper National Park, discovering beautiful Maligne Lake.
Day 7-9 Across the plains
On the morning of day seven, board The Canadian for three nights in Sleeper Plus Class. Leave the Rockies for the Canadian central plains and pass through Winnipeg late on day eight. As you enter Ontario admire the countless lakes and forests, while keeping an eye out for bears and moose as the train rolls by.
Day 10 Toronto
After breakfast, arrive at the enthralling city of Toronto and disembark for a two night stay. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
Day 11 Niagara Falls
Board a bus bound for Niagara Falls and enjoy a boat ride to the base of the falls before heading to Table Rock. Later visit the small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake before returning to Toronto.
Day 12 Quebec
Join VIA Rail’s The Corridor service for the journey to Quebec City. Check into your hotel and soak up the cities charm.
Day 13-14 Quebec - Halifax
Immerse yourself in a guided tour through the winding streets of Quebec City, taking in the Citadel and the ‘Plains of Abraham’. Later, visit a local sugar shack where maple syrup is produced and enjoy a short tour and a delicious 3 course lunch. Board VIA Rail’s The Ocean overnight service in Sleeper Plus Class. The train curves along the St Lawrence River and past Chaluer Bay, arriving in Halifax on day 14.
Day 15 Halifax
Halifax was the first British town in Canada, founded in 1749 and located on the world’s second largest natural harbour. Today, explore Nova Scotia’s maritime treasures including the charming fishing village of Peggy’s Cove and the World Heritage Site of Lunenburg with its colourful wooden buildings.
Day 16-17 Fly to the UK
Explore at leisure Halifax’s star shaped citadel, which played a pivotal role in the Anglo-French struggle for power in the region. Perhaps visit Pier 21, now Canada’s National Museum of Immigration. The site saw over a million immigrants begin their life in Canada. Later, transfer to Halifax airport for your flight home, arriving the following day.
