Itinerary:

Day 1  Baku, Azerbaijan            
Arrive in Baku and transfer to your hotel. Relax before meeting your fellow travellers and tour leader this evening.  
             
Days 2-3  Baku  
Explore Baku with a tour of the city and visit the Old Market Square, later head out on a tour to the Absheron Peninsula to see the eternally burning Yanardagh fire mountain. Continue to Qobustan and visit one of the world's largest open-air archaeological museums and wander past ancient rock art dating back 40,000 years. The prehistoric carvings depict scenes of hunting, fishing and gathering.  

Day 4  Baku to Sheki          
Leave Baku behind and head to the Caucasus Mountains in the northwest of Azerbaijan. Watch arid landscapes give way to densely forested mountains. Later stop by at an active mud volcano en route to Sheki.

Day 5  Sheki to Kvareli, Georgia        
This morning visit the local Sheki bazaar before continuing onto Lagodecki, a town at the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. Travel onto Georgia's Kakheti region, famous for its wine making and welcoming hospitality.

Day 6  Kvareli to Tibilisi            
After breakfast, journey to the beautiful 18th Century town of Sighnaghi, known for its quaint stone walls, small houses with terracotta roofs and decorated balconies. Be sure to have your cameras ready as you travel through the picturesque Alazani Valley en route to Tbilisi. On arrival take a walking tour of the old town.  

Day 7  Tibilisi                  
Enjoy panoramic views of the whole town from the ancient Narikala fortress, then head to the historical domed sulphur bath area. Visit the stunning treasury of the Golden Fund at the Natural History Museum. Spend the afternoon at your leisure.  

Day 8  Tibilisi to Akhaltsikhe              
Today visit Mtskheta, the ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia. See UNESCO Heritage Sites such as the 6th Century Jvari Monastery and the impressive Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where the Robe of Christ is purported to be buried.  

Day 9  Akhaltsikhe                  
Drive to the magnificent cave town of Vardzia, which stretches over half a kilometer along the river Mtkvari. En route to Vardzia you'll also visit the 10th Century Khertvisi fortress. In the afternoon return to Akhaltsikhe and visit the multicultural complex of Rabat.  

Day 10  Akhaltsikhe to Gudauri                  
In the morning visit the town of Gori, home to the Stalin Museum, and historical Uplistsikhe Cave Town, where the Great Silk Road once use to pass.  

Day 11  Gudauri            
Enjoy a stunning drive from Gudauri along the Tergi River before arriving in Kazbegi. From here it's a leisurely 2 hour walk each way through beautiful valleys and woodlands to Gergeti Trinity Church, located at 2170 metres above sea level. Later return to Gudauri your home for the evening.

Day 12 Gudauri to Dilijan, Armenia        
After breakfast continue onto Sadakhlo, a village at the Georgia-Armenia border to begin the Armenian leg of your adventure. Arrive at the picturesque resort town of Dilijan, referred to as ‘Little Switzerland’.  

Day 13  Dilijan to Yerevan              
Head to Lake Sevan, the ‘pearl of Armenia’ one of the world’s highest fresh water lakes.

Day 14  Yerevan          
Today take a guided tour of the city and visit the Matenadaran, a depository of ancient manuscripts that contains historical documents from all over Europe and Asia. In the afternoon, visit Zvartnots Temple, a stunning example of 7th Century Armenian architecture. The afternoon is at your leisure.  

Day 15  Yerevan          
After breakfast your tour comes to an end.
