Itinerary

Days 1-2  Prague, Czech Republic  
Fly to Prague, an enthralling capital city, home to impressive Gothic architecture, picturesque scenery and awe-inspiring castles.    

Days 3-4  Prague to Vienna, Austria  
Take the train to Vienna, boasting elegant buildings and pristine gardens. Perhaps watch a classical performance at the Opera House or admire the sights on a horse and carriage ride through the city centre.    

Days 5-6  Vienna to Budapest, Hungary  
Journey by rail to Budapest, this exciting capital city is brimming with castles, thermal springs and rich folk tradition.  

Days 7-8  Budapest to Zagreb, Croatia  
Settle in for your rail journey to Zagreb. A city of two halves, explore the grand boulevards, beautiful gardens and atmospheric squares of the lower town before wandering the upper town.

Days 9-11  Zagreb to Ljubljana, Slovenia    
Enjoy the views from your train as you travel to Ljubljana, filled with enchanting, cobbled streets and a host of riverside cafés. Marvel at beautiful views over the city from Ljubljana Castle and embark on your included tour to picturesque Lake Bled and Bohinj.    

Days 12-13  Ljubljana to Venice, Italy
Settle in for your train journey to Venice. Stroll the city’s winding alleyways, discovering hidden courtyards and buzzing markets or perhaps glide down the iconic Grand Canal on a gondola.  

Days 14-16  Venice to Rome    
Take one of Italy’s high-speed trains to its dynamic capital, filled with ancient history and fascinating architecture at every turn. Visit the iconic sites of the Colosseum and Sistine Chapel as well as wandering the quieter Trastevere district, savouring delicious local cuisine.    

Days 17-18  Rome to Florence    
Board your train to Florence, this city enchants visitors with its rich Renaissance heritage, opulent facades and incredible cuisine. Stroll along the famous Ponte Vecchio, admire the world-class galleries and perhaps even climb to the top of its iconic Duomo.

Days 19-20  Florence to Milan    
Today, travel by train to Italy’s ‘fashion capital’, Milan. Explore the impressive architecture and host of museums and galleries, shop along the Quadrilatero della Moda and discover chic neighbourhoods.      

Day 21  Milan to Lugano, Switzerland    
Journey by rail to Lugano, a charming lakeside town offering a mix of Swiss-Mediterranean culture. Take a gentle cruise along the lake, hike the many beautiful trails, or hop on a train to one of the neighbouring enchanting villages.

Day 22  Bernina Express
Travel on the scenic Bernina Express coach and train via Tirano to St Moritz, a town surrounded by snow-capped peaks and brimming with upscale eateries and designer boutiques.  

Day 23  St Moritz
Explore the picturesque hiking trails surrounding this lovely town or indulge in a treatment at one of the revitalising spas.  

Days 24-25  St Moritz to Zermatt    
Take the train to Zermatt, tucked under the mighty Matterhorn. This quaint town enjoys dramatic mountain scenery and a host of outdoor adventures.  

Day 26  Zermatt to Zurich    
Hop on the train to Zurich, boasting historic buildings along with exciting bars and restaurants in a wonderful lakeside setting.      

Days 27-28  Zurich to Munich, Germany    
Board your train to Munich and explore this captivating city. Filled with intricate architecture and packed with galleries, why not visit the Viktualienmarkt, a delicious foodie spot in the heart of the old town or wander the city’s museum quarter.  
Days 29-30  Munich to Paris, France    
Admire scenic views on board your train to Paris. Discover icons including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe as well as exploring the beautiful Montmartre district or the charming Latin Quarter.  

Days 31-33  Paris to Barcelona, Spain    
Travel by train to the lively city of Barcelona, offering Gaudí masterpieces, Catalan cuisine and traditional tapas bars. Visit bustling Las Ramblas, stroll the streets of the Gothic Quarter and make use of your fast track tour ticket around La Sagrada Familia.    

Days 34-35  Barcelona to Madrid    
Board your final train to Madrid. A hub for art lovers, enjoy the host of galleries and museums scattered across the city. In the evening, watch the city come to life as tapas bars and restaurants fill the air with music.    

Day 36  Fly home

Additional Options: Extend Your Time in Lake Bled - Why not spend a night or two on the lake itself to truly take in this magical location. Perhaps stay in the delightful Grand Hotel Toplice which sits directly on the lake. The private sun deck is an ideal spot to soak up the views and enjoy a dip in the serene waters. Take a rowing boat from the hotel’s boathouse to explore Bled Island or walk the beautiful trails nearby.
