Day 1 Reykjavik
Arrive in Iceland and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy some free time before meeting your fellow travellers for a welcome meeting this evening.
Day 2 Reykjavik to Snaefellsness Peninsula
Travel to the geological phenomenon of Parliament Plains to visit the stunning waterfalls of Hraunfossar (Lava waterfalls) and Barnafossar (Children’s waterfalls) and Europe’s hottest water spring, Deildartunguhver.
Day 3 Snaefellsnes Peninsula to Skagafjordur
Explore the peninsula and the Snaefellsjokull glacier before visiting the basaltic pebble beaches framed by lava formations and spotting birdlife along the coastal cliffs of Arnarstapi. Continue your journey to the town of Stykkisholmur, famous for its modern church overlooking the town.
Day 4 Skagafjordur to Akureyri
This morning, drive around the picturesque Trollaskagi Peninsula and visit the small fishing town of Siglufjordur, dwarfed by towering mountains before continuing to Akureyri for an afternoon at leisure. Why not join a whale watching trip?
Day 5 Akureyri to Modrudalur Valley
Marvel at The Waterfall of the Gods before continuing to Lake Myvatn. Visit the lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir, the pseudo-crater group at Skutustadir and the boiling mud pots and sulphuric vents of Namaskard, before continuing your journey to the Modrudalur Valley to see Europe’s mightiest waterfall Dettifoss
Day 6 Modrudalur Valley to Skaftafell National Park
Continue your journey along the East Fjords and keep an eye out for seals frolicking in the fjords as you head to the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon for a cruise between the floating icebergs of the lagoon.
Day 7 Skaftafell National Park to Hvolsvollur Valley
Drive over the black sands and lava formations of Skaftafell National Park before heading to Iceland’s South Shore, passing stunning scenery including glaciers and volcanoes along the way. In the afternoon, visit Seljarlandsfoss and Skogarfoss waterfalls.
Day 8 Hvolsvollur Valley to Reykjavik
Visit the geyser geothermal area of the Golden Circle to see the spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur which erupts every 10 minutes. In the afternoon, return to Reykjavik and embark on a short walking tour before exploring the city at your leisure for you final evening.
Day 9 Reykjavik
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast.
