Day 1 Dobbiaco
Make your way to your hotel at Dobbiaco, where you will be based for seven nights.
Day 2 Chapels & Churches Walk
Gently ascend along peaceful country lanes, through picturesque Tyrolean villages and hamlets dotted across the hillside, each boasting a chapel or church. Stadlern boasts panoramic views and is the perfect place to stop for a picnic lunch, before following the Rienza River back to Dobbiaco.
Day 3 Nemes Alp Walk
Take a short transfer by bus before a spectacular gondola ride to the high Rotwand pastures (1,914m), located below the mighty Croda Rossa limestone peaks. Descend along pretty pine-scented forest trails to south Tyrol’s most easterly mountain pass, Kreuzbergpass, then head up to the Malga Nemes refuge for panoramic views and a spot of lunch. In the afternoon, descend along a woodland track to the village of Moos and catch a local bus to Dobbiaco.
Day 4 Lago Di Braies and The Hochalm
Today is one of the most scenic trails in the Dolomites. Begin with a stroll along the shores of Lago di Braies and then start climbing via the pastures of Alte Kaser before reaching the idyllic mountain bowl of Hochalm. Descend through a deeply carved valley and enjoy stunning views of the colossal peaks all around.
Day 5 High Mountain Pastures and Rifugio Ra Stua Walk
Head into the heart of the Ampezzo National Park in the Italian speaking Veneto region. Set off from Cimabanche along a disused railway line and continue through Gotres Valley to reach the high mountain pasture of Forcella Lerosa. Descend to the tranquil meadows of Rifugio Ra Stua and follow the narrow forest footpath towards Cortina D’Ampezzo.
Day 6 Mount Elmo and Klammbachutte Walk
Start today with a local bus journey, followed by a cable car ascent up towards Mount Elmo (2,041m). From here follow an old military supply route to the refuge Sillianer Hutte. This ridge forms a border between Italy and Austria offering spectacular views across the Austrian Alps. The descent to picturesque Klammbachhutte, follows a less defined rocky path via the pretty pastures of Klammbachalm before arriving at the village of Moos.
Day 7 Tre Cime (Three Peaks)
Take a local bus to the high altitude area of Rifugio Auronzo located at the foot of the world famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. These enormous free standing limestone towers have unsurprisingly become the symbol of the Dolomites. Follow a wide mountain trail constructed by soldiers during the First World War whilst enjoying the surrounding views.
