Day 1 Dublin to Ennis
Arrive in Dublin and head to County Kildare, home to the thoroughbred horse breeding facility, the Irish National Stud. Enjoy a private tour and an exclusive jockey eyes view of the horses before exploring the fascinating museum. Afterwards stop at Portumna Castle, a semi fortified house in County Galway before arriving in Ennis for the night.
Day 2 Ennis to Killarney
Start today with a walking tour of characterful Ennis, hearing enthralling myths, mysteries and tales of rebellions and riots. Later, spend time admiring the Cliffs of Moher, keeping your eyes peeled for the resident puffins. Later, travel to Killarney, the gateway to the panoramic Ring of Kerry and home for the next two nights.
Day 3 Killarney
This morning is all about the Skellig Experience. Gain a fascinating insight into the lives of the Skellig monks of the early Christian period who were dedicated to creating a community on a tiny inhospitable offshore island. Afterwards, spend time exploring Killarney National park and admiring its spectacular scenery from the carriage of a traditional jaunting car before rounding off the day with a tour and tasting at a local brewery.
Day 4 Killarney to Kinsale
Learn about the nutritional benefits of seaweed on a morning walk at Derrynane Harbour before heading to Molly Gallivan’s 200 year old Cottage. At first glances it appears to be an unassuming rustic farmhouse, however you will hear stories of the enterprising Mrs Gallivan’s antics before heading to the medieval town of Kinsale.
Day 5 Kinsale
Enjoy a morning walking tour of pretty Kinsale before time at leisure. Perhaps continue to explore the cobbled streets and pretty bays or why not find a cosy pub to relax with your favourite tipple.
Day 6 Kinsale to Waterford
Leave the colourful houses of Kinsale behind and head to Tipperary. Hear about traditional Irish craftsmanship at a local crystal factory before continuing on to Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city and home for the night. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.
Day 7 Waterford to Dublin
Head to the small town of Avoca, where you can pay homage to the BBC drama, Ballykissangel. Enjoy some final souvenir shopping at the Woollen Mills before your tour comes to an end in Dublin.
