Day 1 Fly to Stockholm, Sweden
Arrive in Stockholm with your tour director and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Stockholm
This morning enjoy a guided city tour before an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 Stockholm to Östersund
Leave Stockholm behind and head inland to the scenic town of Östersund, nestled on the shore of the beautiful Lake Storsjon.
Day 4 Östersund to Lapland
Head north through some of Sweden’s most glorious scenery to the untamed wilderness of Lapland. Journey on the Inlandsbanan tourist train before getting a real taste of Lapland with a visit to the local Sami community.
Day 5 Lapland to Jokkmokk
Continue your journey north by coach, crossing the Arctic Circle to Jokkmokk and the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’.
Day 6 Jokkmokk to Narvik, Norway
Today, travel on one of the world’s most northerly railway lines, the Ofoten Railway. Journey through Sweden’s breathtaking mountains into Norway whilst traversing steep mountainsides with sheer drops to the fjords below.
Day 7 Narvik
Explore Narvik, visiting the town’s war museum to learn about the pivotal role Narvik played in the Second World War.
Day 8 Narvik to Stiklestad
Travel to Fauske and board the Polar Express, passing awesome fjords and bristling forest en route to Stiklestad.
Day 9 Stiklestad to Trondheim
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Stiklestad, the site of King Olav’s death in 1030. After lunch, admire the rugged shoreline of Norway as you travel to Trondheim by coach.
Day 10 Trondheim
Trondheim is one of the oldest cities in Norway and today includes a guided tour before you have free time to explore at your own pace.
Day 11 Trondheim to Geiranger
Board the Rauma Railway for a spectacular journey through magnificent, contrasting landscape enroute to the incredible Geirangerfjord.
Day 12 Geirangerfjord Cruise
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Geirangerfjord as you cruise the serene and deep waters of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 13 Geiranger to Flåm
Continue your scenic voyage of Norway’s incredible fjord country to Flåm, travelling by coach through valleys hemmed in by lofty mountains.
Day 14 Flåm to Bergen
Journey along one of the steepest railway lines in the world, the Flåm Railway. Upon arrival in Myrdal, return to Flåm and board the express boat for a journey along Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, Sognefjord en route to Bergen.
Day 15 Bergen
Explore Bergen on a guided walking tour before a delicious seafood lunch at the picturesque fish market.
Day 16 Bergen to Oslo
Leave Bergen behind for a magnificent journey on Northern Europe’s highest railway line, the Bergen Railway. The train climbs high above the tree line across some of the most remote areas of western Norway, before descending through pastures to the elegant city of Oslo.
Day 17 Fly to the UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK where your tour comes to an end.
