Day 1 Hanoi, Vietnam
Arrive into Hanoi and transfer to your hotel, before exploring this vibrant city at your own leisure.
Day 2 Hanoi
Start today with a city tour of Hanoi, visiting Ba Dinh Square and the Temple of literature. Continue the day with a walking tour through the meandering streets of the Old Quarter before a food tour including some of Vietnam’s best loved dishes including banh mi and pho. Take a break with a coffee at a hidden rooftop café and admire the city views.
Day 3 Hanoi
Begin the day with a stroll around Hoam Kiem Lake and watch the locals practice Tai Chi along the waterfront. Afterwards, visit the infamous Hoa Lo Prison before meeting a local Vietnam War veteran.
Day 4 Hanoi to Halong Bay
Head out on the waters of Halong Bay for an overnight cruise, a true highlight of your tour. Sail through the thousands of limestone islands that grace the waters and enjoy a seafood feast on board before swimming in the crystal clear waters of the bay.
Day 5 Halong Bay to Hoi An
After a peaceful night, wake as the sun rises on the emerald waters of Halong Bay, before returning to Hanoi to catch a flight to Da Nang and travel to Hoi An.
Day 6 Hoi An
Board a basket boat and travel along the Co Co River as you learn about local cuisines and cook up some classic dishes for lunch. This afternoon, visit a workshop to try your hand at lantern making, followed by a walking tour ending at a vibrant market.
Day 7 Hoi An
Today is at leisure to further explore Hoi An in your own time. Perhaps stroll along the canals through the Old Town and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Day 8 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
Fly south to Ho Chi Minh City and take a city tour, including Notre Dame Cathedral and the Reunification Palace.
Day 9 Mekong Delta
Head out to the waterways of the Mekong Delta. Learn of the history and culture of this fascinating region and visit a coconut candy factory.
Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City
Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the infamous maze of underground passageways used during the Vietnam War before returning to Ho Chi Minh for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 11 Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Fly to the atmospheric town of Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a traditional Apsara show at a local restaurant.
Day 12 Angkor Wat
The sunrise at Angkor Wat is well worth the early start. Travel by tuk tuk to this amazing site, where you have the opportunity to take incredible photos. After breakfast back at the hotel, explore the ancient ruins of Angkor Thom, including the Terrace of the Leper King and the temples of Baphuon and Bayon.
Day 13 Siem Reap
Start today at the visitor centre of APOPO where ‘hero rats’ are trained to navigate minefields and save lives. Watch a demonstration whilst learning about Cambodia’s history with war. Later, visit the village of Preah Dak to see how rice noodles are created and visit a local workshop where apprentices are trained in fine arts and woodwork.
Day 14 Siem Reap to Luang Prabang, Laos
Board a flight to the spiritual capital of Laos, Luang Prabang. This evening, choose to venture to a lively outdoor market or have an evening of leisure at the hotel.
Day 15 Luang Prabang
This morning take a tuk tuk ride to the National Museum, the former Royal Palace, before continuing on to Wat Xieng Thong monastery. Next, head to Ban Xang Hai, a riverside weaving and fishing village. After lunch, take a leisurely cruise to visit the Pak Ou Caves before ending the day with a home-hosted dinner and traditional Baci ceremony.
Day 16 Luang Prabang
Rise early to enjoy a traditional alms offering, before exploring a nearby market. After breakfast back at the hotel, journey to the Lao countryside and visit a traditional Hmong hill tribe village in Ban Long Lao. Spend time getting to know the tribe and their daily way of life before a gentle hike in the lush jungle to Kuang Si Waterfall.
Day 17 Luang Prabang to Bangkok, Thailand
Leaving Laos behind, take a flight to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Tonight join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River.
Day 18 Bangkok
After breakfast, your tour comes to an end and you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
