Itinerary
Days 1-2 Amman
Fly to Jordan's capital city Amman and transfer to your hotel, enjoying the rest of the day at leisure. Head out the following afternoon to discover Amman’s highlights with a city tour, including the ancient Citadel, the iconic Roman Theatre and the city’s energetic souks.
Day 3 Umm Qais, Ajloun & Jerash
Today, enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of some of the historic sites located north of Amman. Visit two of the smaller sites in the morning, Um Qais and Ajloun Castle, before spending your afternoon at the well-preserved ruins of Jerash, often referred to as the 'Pompeii of the Middle East'.
Day 4 Amman to Petra
On the journey to Petra, make a few stops at points of interest en route. Visit Madaba, famed for its collection of Byzantine-era mosaics, followed by stops at the biblical site of Mount Nebo, the 12th Century castle in Shoubak, and Little Petra, home to a collection of unspoilt Nabataean ruins.
Day 5 Petra
This morning, visit one of the world’s most wondrous archaeological sites – the ancient city of Petra. Wind your way through the narrow gorge of the Siq to reach the breathtaking Treasury and discover the vast network of hidden passages. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure.
Day 6 Petra to Wadi Rum
Enjoy a relaxing morning before heading to the otherworldly dunes of Wadi Rum. Embark on a thrilling 4WD desert safari followed by a buffet feast at your desert camp.
Day 7 Wadi Rum to Aqaba
Leave the desert behind and drive west to Aqaba, located on the shores of the glistening Red Sea.
Day 8 Aqaba
After an adventurous week, enjoy a full day to unwind. Opt to relax on the beach or snorkel the stunning coral reefs.
Day 9 Aqaba to the Dead Sea
After breakfast, set off on the drive north to your comfortable Dead Sea resort, arriving in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 10 Dead Sea
Spend a day relaxing at the lowest point on earth. Opt to try out the therapeutic mud and float in the mineral-rich waters.
Day 11 Transfer to Amman and fly home
After a final breakfast, bid Jordan farewell and transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
Additional Options: Extend your stay with a few days of hiking at Dana Nature Reserve. Home to diverse terrain and boasting the greatest concentration of wildlife in all of Jordan, including the elusive ibex, the reserve is best discovered on foot. Dana can easily fit in en route from Aqaba to the Dead Sea, the perfect place to rest those weary legs! Please ask your Trailfinders travel consultant for more details.
