Made entirely from wood and completely hand-carved this sanctuary is at once a religious shrine, a cultural monument and a de facto art installation. An enormous 18-metre tall golden Buddha also lies ready to greet travellers at Wat Phra Yai temple, set between Pattaya Beach and Jomtien beach.

The busy town centre plays host to the famous Beach Road and Walking Street which offer an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and clubs while to the north and south you will find a quieter pace of life, tranquil beaches and beautiful vistas of the Gulf of Thailand.
