The historic city of Trincomalee is home to a Portuguese fort, whilst to the north are miles of peaceful, untouched beaches. Just offshore lie the coral reefs of Pigeon Island National Park. Further south, the wide bay of Passekudah boasts shallow warm waters protected by a reef, making it perfect for watersports such as kayaking and windsurfing.
