The spectacular Okavango Delta is considered one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. Floodwater that once fell as rain in the Angolan Highlands, more than 300 miles away, flows down the Okavango Panhandle and into the delta from early May. This creates a labyrinth of waterways and lagoons which are rich with wildlife and an abundance of birds. By the end of October the floodwaters begin to dry up and the rain in Botswana begins to fall. Depending on water levels and the location of your camp, your game activity might be an exciting 4WD safari, a relaxing mokoro (traditional canoe) trip or a walking safari tracking wildlife through reeds and long grass.
