The Onyx Hotel

I loved my stay here. The apartment came with a spacious living area, which was also very modern and comfortable. The views from the large windows were nice – offering a combination of city and mountain.

The hotel is walkable to the V&A Waterfront - taking around 10 minutes. However, I would still recommend getting taxis/uber where possible. The V&A is lively, fun, and tourist friendly.

They have a nice café on the ground floor (which I believe is where they serve breakfast). There is a mid-floor bar (near the pool) which I didn't use but looked modern and seemed to have a good vibe. There is a mid-floor heated pool (part indoor and part outdoor) which is too small for swimming lengths but perfect for relaxation - with loungers and a small spa room for treatments.

All staff at the hotel were great and I enjoyed exceptional service. The reception staff packed us two large bags of breakfast foods and orange juice at 3.30am ready for our early check out. They couldn't have been more kind and helpful. Concierge helped us with our bags and made sure our transfer vehicle was correct. I lost my room key at the pool, and the spa staff were able to fetch someone from reception to get us a new one, so we didn't have to go down to reception in our swimmers and robes.

Overall, staying here was a great experience and I highly recommend this property.
