Three Tree Hill Lodge, Spioenkop Game Reserve

Against the magnificent backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains, this charming property overlooks the famous hill, Spioenkop – the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the Anglo-Boer War.

In addition to joining an evocative battlefields tour run by passionate guides directly from the lodge, there is a host of activities to keep the whole family entertained. Look out for some of the 300 recorded bird species found near the Three Tress on a scenic nature walk or perhaps explore the grounds by bike or on horseback. At the lodge itself, relax in the cosy library or beside the picturesque pool, or maybe browse the extensive wine cellar before heading to the large veranda that boasts spectacular views of the reserve. In the dining room, enjoy homely farm style cuisine by the cosy fireplace or out on the scenic terrace.
