Ilala Lodge

Ilala Lodge is in a great location for experiencing the Falls, as well as the town of Vic Falls. This is the first hotel you'll see when walking from the bridge to the town and you can hear the sound of the falls from your room. During the day, you'll also be able to see the mist of the falls from the terrace. The garden areas frequently have elephants which cross the main road to and from the property. The lodge do employ security who are on lookout at all times to ensure safety.

There are many bars and restaurants nearby as well as the main Vic Falls markets.

I only had one breakfast during my stay, but the food was very nice and there was lots of available.

I think this would be great for anyone in between safaris (e.g Southern Africa and East Africa). The pool has a nice view, and the overall feel of the place would provide a nice mid-trip break from game drives.

Top tip: If you're willing to sacrifice your lie in, have an early morning breakfast on the terrace (starts serving at 6.30am) while the sun rises behind the trees and mist of the falls.
