Royal Sands Koh Rong Island

Royal Sands Koh Rong is set at the end of a 5km stretch of beach with the bluest ocean and most white and powdery sand. It is easy to see why Koh Rong is often compared to the Maldives. The hotel’s location is absolutely stunning, and you can experience what I can only imagine are the best sunsets on the island.

The villas are really modern and relaxed. The beds were absolutely enormous! Each villa has both an indoor and enclosed outdoor shower and it was lovely being able to take a shower under the stars.

The resort has a wide array of activities on offer and can also arrange bicycle hire or motorbike hire to explore the island which I would really recommend doing. There is very little within the immediate vicinity of the hotel aside from a local bar about ten minutes up the beach. Sok San village is located at the other end of the beach is and is worth a visit. The hotel also offers a nightly shuttle to the main village on the island, which is a bit of a backpacker haven.

Food and drink at the resort was of a really high standard and well-priced, especially given the pretty remote location of the hotel. I really loved the vibe of the hotel which was very understated and relaxed. All the staff were lovely and so helpful in assisting.

This hotel would make an amazing finale to any South East Asia itinerary!
