The Sands Khao Lak by Katathani

This hotel is unbeatable. The rooms are bright, clean and spacious. The pools were extremely entertaining. We especially enjoyed the splash park which had water slides, a lazy river and swim-up bar. There is also another pool which is less hectic and an adults only pool which was the perfect place to unwind and escape the kids for a bit! We travelled during February half term, so the hotel was at full occupancy. However, whilst very busy it was clean and staff were friendly.

There was a wide range of breakfast items though it was very busy after 8am. We were particularly impressed with the evening buffet. The hotel is well located on a lovely stretch of beach. There are a good selection of bars and restaurants just next to the hotel and easy to get a tuk tuk to the night markets.

Top tip: I recommend an evening trip to the night market it is just a short tuk tuk ride away. There are lots of day tours bookable from the hotel. We did the 'Khao Lak expedition' which included bamboo rafting.
