SAii Phi Phi Island Village

SAii Phi Phi Island Village was definitely my favourite hotel in Thailand. The beaches outside the resort are really nice and the water very clear and blue, which reminded me of being in the Maldives.

We stayed in a Deluxe Villa which had been newly renovated and was very modern in style (compared to the Bungalows which are more rustic feel). The hotel uses an app where you can order buggies to get around the resort, order things to the room and communicate with different parts of the hotel (i.e. to book excursions). This worked really well and made the stay very easy.

The village behind the hotel has a few local restaurants which served great food and are much cheaper than eating within the hotel, although due to the secluded location it is difficult to travel to other parts of the island. We also hired a longtail boat which took us to Maya Bay, Phi Leh Lagoon and Monkey Island through the hotel, and this was one of our highlights of our holiday in Thailand.

Top tip: Book the early trip to Maya Bay which departs the hotel around 07:30am. It means getting there before the boats from Krabi and Phuket arrive, so the beach is much quieter and didn't feel too crowded at all. You can either book a shared speedboat or a private longtail boat, but I would recommend the private longtail option as it was cheaper and you have the boat at your disposal for half a day meaning you can travel around to your own schedule.
