The Slate

I can see why The Slate is a Trailfinders favourite, this is a stunning hotel! The rooms are very modern but with a Thai twist to them. We were in a lead-in room, and it was huge, with a large outdoor terrace. The bed was the comfiest of all the beds we had on our trip!

We only thoroughly explored one pool, and this was the adults only pool. It was so peaceful and you felt like you were in the middle of the nature as you swam through it. The bar has a happy hour between 2-4pm, but even then the pool wasn't crowded and it was always easy to find a sunbed.

We really enjoyed spending the evening in the Syndicate Bar which is a sports bar and also has a full size snooker and pool table. The cocktails and bar snacks here were lovely and it's a great way to spend a few hours when the sun goes down.

Dinner at Black Ginger was certainly an experience! We didn't realise that a raft takes you across the lake and thought we had made a wrong turn! But it is a very special entrance to a very special dinner! Definitely make reservations here so you aren't disappointed. If you don't feel like eating onsite, there is a small village on the beach just outside the hotel. There are a selection of bars and restaurants there that you can choose from.

There is also a kids club onsite, which looked very good and from the look of the activity board, always had something to offer the little ones!

We stayed here at the end of our trip, as its only ten minutes from the airport, however we did not hear any noise from the planes when we were there.
