Tigh Na Mara Seaside Spa Resort, Parksville

Tigh Na Mara is a lovely relaxed resort. We stayed in the Texada Ocean View Suite; these are good as they can be combined with a studio for more space for families. The room was a very good size with one king room, kitchen and living room with a pull-down murphy bed and balcony. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony with the sea views. There is beach access straight from the resort - the beach is very nice and is shared with other resorts so can get a little busy. The beach is excellent for families as very shallow, and the water was warm.

Walking through the resort we saw the cabins which looked really cute as they were separate and located in the forest, whereas the Texada Suites are in the main block.

There are excellent facilities on site - a nice pub style restaurant and an indoor pool with gym. The hotel is also home to the number one spa in BC. We didn't book any treatments, but we used the mineral pool facilities.

There’s also a Ricky's Diner and a liquor store within walking distance of the property.

Top tip: Book the spa in advance as it does get booked up!
