Exactly what you'd expect from a 5★ all inclusive resort in Mexico. This is the true meaning of all inclusive; all drinks (aside from some premium wines) and restaurants are included in the package. Food on the whole was good - Bordeaux the French restaurant and Oceana, the seafront grill, being the two best we tried.

Service throughout was really excellent and a standout part of the resort. Every member of staff greets you with a smile and those in the restaurants really look after you.

The resort itself is fairly spread out but once you've figured it out getting around is easy and enjoyable also - lots of very green areas with iguanas and other wildlife sharing the paths with you. The three pools really do differ in experience which is great to cater to all guests. The chilled pool towards the back of the resort is a place of serenity, but if you want to socialise at a swim up bar the beachfront pool offers this. The beach is nice with beautiful colours in the sea and you can walk to Akumal town very easily and quickly along the beach if guests want to check it out for a little more authentic feel of Mexico.

The hotel really makes a huge effort to provide constant activities and entertainment also which is really impressive. There's always something going on and they even have a full day of ‘rainy day’ activities planned each day for when required. The activities extend into the evenings when shows are on every night in the theatre and various things are often happening at the bars and the nightclub. In addition, pop-up dinners and shows around the pool are common.
