Hanz Outdoor Retreat lies nestled among the lush pine forests which border the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko. A departure from the bustle of Japan’s futuristic cities, this resort reconnects you with the natural environment, and on a clear day you are able to enjoy unobstructed views of Mt Fuji towering above the trees.


Optional activities include cycling excursions, nature walks and canoeing tours which bring you closer to the legendary Mt. Fuji. Perhaps explore Aokigahara Forest, an otherworldly woodland which grew from lava-rich ground in the aftermath of volcanic eruptions. With a complimentary shuttle bus between Kawaguchiko Station and the resort, it’s easy to explore the surrounding area.


The retreat’s rustic accommodation has an old-world charm, with low-lighting and wooden constructions based on traditional Japanese houses. These quaint villas offer private patios and Jacuzzis to enjoy a complete reset from the outside world. While there is no restaurant on site, you will be provided with a selection of ingredients to cook breakfast and a barbecue dinner from your own private patio.
