Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas

Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas is a fantastic hotel for families offering they could need. The rooms are a good size for those with children still in cots, with particularly good blackout curtains for afternoon naps. Hotel was very forthcoming with a child running around the lobby and hallways with staff being extremely attentive throughout.

Although there are multiple restaurants available, we only had breakfast and dinner in Sim Sim buffet restaurant. Breakfast was great with mixture of fruits, yogurts, omelette station and plenty of treats. Dinner was just as great in the choice of what they had on offer. During our stay we had a themed night of Asian cuisine which I would highly recommend. Sim Sim is perfect for families with plastic knives and forks, plates and bowls all around the restaurant, and waiters were on hand to produce a highchair if needed. Every night they had a children's station set up: plain pasta, tomato sauce and chicken nuggets with chips available on demand from the staff.

The facilities were great and the beach was close by with easy access to the water. Small bar and towel hut close by so we didn't have to go far for a drink. Buckets and spades are available in the beach hut.

The children's play area is great with a waterslide at the back and a covered play park available. There is also a small and very tame lazy river with a pool area available to splash about it in. We spent the majority of our time here as my son loved to run around and jump in. The main pool has a swim-up bar and plenty of sun loungers and cabanas available. Kids are allowed in this pool and that's where we mainly saw any other children during our stay.

Top tip: Upgrade to half board – you get to use majority of restaurants and enjoy a light snack around the pool at lunch.
