Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort

Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort has a real wow factor as you walk into the large open reception area with impressive views out to the ocean!

We had a two queen partial ocean view room which was large and spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the resort and the ocean in the distance. Our room was in a lower floor and quite near the bar which could be noisy up until close (10pm), so upgrading to an ocean front room might be a good option to be further away from potential noise.

One thing I really loved was the activities menu on offer at the property. There were some activities at additional cost, but some were free too! We went on a short kayaking trip (about 45 minutes) from the beachfront and got lucky with turtles swimming around us. We even spotted whales off in the distance further from shore!

The pool area is tiered meaning that each pool wouldn’t feel too busy. There is also a nice little beach area if you would prefer to sit there than at the pool.

We didn't pre-book breakfast as along the road to the main Wailea area there are plenty of food options.

Top tip: Wailea is a great location to access Haleakalâ National Park. We went out to the summit for sunset (sunrise requires pre-booking) and experienced a sunset above a cloud inversion at 10,000ft. This is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever witnessed. This is a must-do!
