The Coast Starlight

The Coast Starlight

Journey

Journey

For a combination of thrilling cities and diverse scenery you’d have to go a long way to beat the Coast Starlight.

Hugging the western seaboard from Seattle to Los Angeles, via San Francisco, the Starlight links the three great cities of the west coast.

Travelling south from Seattle the route glides by lofty peaks, lakes and forests of the Cascades Range in Washington and Oregon before sliding by the immense snow capped peak of Mount Shasta in northern California.

The rugged wilderness of the north gives way to fertile valleys and vineyards as you roll towards San Francisco and the silhouette of the Golden Gate Bridge. Your final leg rejoins the coast at the Spanish influenced Santa Barbara and then its palm fringed beaches all the way to Los Angeles.

Life on Board

Amtrak operate Superliner Trains on the Coast Starlight that include a dining car that serves hot meals prepared onboard for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

All meals for First class passengers and those with sleeping accommodation are included in the price of their train ticket. Coach class passengers can dine for an additional charge.

There is also a Sightseer Lounge with oversize windows that comes complete with swivel chairs facing out, table seating, a lounge area and bar.
