Day 1 Antananarivo
Arrive in Antananarivo and explore the city at leisure before meeting up with your fellow travellers.
Day 2 Antananarivo to Andasibe NP
Leave the capital behind and travel along the scenic rainforest route to Andasibe National Park. Stop en route for your first glimpse of Madagascar’s iconic lemurs, before arriving at a quiet area within the national park for an overnight stay.
Day 3 Andasibe NP
Spend the day exploring the Indri Special Reserve, home to a number of lemurs, chameleons and the rarely seen blue coua.
Day 4 Andasibe NP to Antsirabe
Travel to the colonial town of Antsirabe stopping en route to admire the rice paddies and visit artisan workshops along the way.
Day 5 Antsirabe to Fiadanana
Visit the beautiful Lake Andraikiba before continuing to the small village of Fiadanana. Explore this beautiful area on foot and walk to your homestay for the night. Spend the evening getting to know the villagers whilst enjoying the picturesque landscape.
Day 6 Fiadanana to Ranomafana
After breakfast, embark on a scenic hike near Mount Ifasina and admire the panoramic views. Travel to Ranomafana Village, named after the hot springs of the area and gateway to Ranomafana National Park, one of the most important conservation sites in Madagascar.
Day 7 Ranomafana to Ambalavao
Rise early and opt to take a forest walk for the chance to see the incredible wildlife, from the golden bamboo lemurs to a number of reptiles including chameleons and geckos. Later, enjoy the ever changing landscape on the way to the rural town of Ambalavao.
Day 8 Ambalavao to Ranohira
Visit Anja Community Reserve to see groups of ring-tailed lemurs before arriving at Ranohira, gateway to Isalo National Park.
Day 9 Isalo NP
Spend a full day exploring Isalo National Park on foot, stopping off for a relaxing swim in a natural lagoon and waterfalls. If you’re lucky, you may see sifaka lemurs.
Day 10 Ranohira to Ifaty
Drive through the vast desert landscape, passing Mahafaly tombs and giant baobab trees en route to the beautiful beaches of Ifaty. Upon arrival, why not take an optional ride in a traditional dugout canoe or go snorkelling on the reef?
Days 11-12 Ifaty
Enjoy two full days exploring this tropical paradise with a range of optional excursions. Options include hiking in the Spiny Forest Reserve or getting up close to the marine life. Make sure you leave time to relax on the white sandy beach.
Day 13 Ifaty to Antananarivo
Travel to Toliara for a flight back to the capital.
Day 14 Antananarivo
Depart any time for your flight home.
